A Software Process Improvement Approach Tailored for Small Organizations and Small ProjectsJudith G. Brodman, Donna L. JohnsonA small organization or project faces issues when implementing a software process improvement program. Alternative practices that satisfy the intent of the SEI's Capability Maturity Model (CMM) practices and goals address the setting up and sustaining of a viable process improvement program. The growth pattern shows areas of improvement as an organization matures - vertical linkages between process areas through the levels of the CMM and the evolutionary definition of metrics through the levels of maturity.Judith G. Brodman and Donna L. Johnson are CEO and President, respectively, of LOGOS International, Inc. They consult with software organizations on software process improvement initiatives. They have also researched the return-on-investment for software process improvement initiatives and issues facing small organizations in their improvement efforts. <icse-97-webmaster@ics.uci.edu> 1997 International Conference on Software Engineering Last modified: 10 May 1997 |
