St. Louis is home to the nation's
tallest monument, the Gateway Arch, rising 630 feet
above the Mississippi river.
The
Reception at the Arch on Wednesday, May 18, from 7:00-9:00 pm, will provide attendees an opportunity
to see the Arch in a unique way. In addition to food, drink and
live music, attendees may (at no cost):
> Take
tram rides to the top of the Arch. A four-minute ride will deposit
attendees at the top of the Arch where windows offer panoramic
views, both east and west.
> View
the Museum of Westward Expansion. The museum contains some of
the rarest artifacts from the days of Lewis and Clark, and 19th
century pioneers who helped shaped the west.
> See
the documentary movie on the making of the Arch: "Monument
to the Dream" by Academy Award winning filmmaker, Charles
Guggenheim. Running time approximately 30 minutes.
